Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was born into the multicultural home of a family. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and father Elroy were both born in Malaysia. She is the younger of two siblings and has an older brother. Due to unrest in Sri Lanka, her family relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s. The schooling she completed was in Bahrain and she won an Scholarship to attend an education at University of Sydney. There she graduated with a Media and Communications degree. A lover of cultures as well as languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School where she studied Spanish and improved her French and Arabic. In 2006 she was named Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006 and also competed at Miss Universe 2006. Her first appearance on television was after she won an award for the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her show, Lanka Business Report, is about Sri Lankan business. Padukone is the child of of badminton champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew as a child in Bangalore, but she was born in Copenhagen. As a teenager she played in national championships of badminton at both the regional and international level. However, she left the sport in order to pursue a career as a fashion designer. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Padukone Village is located in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District in Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro who has international acclaim. Her mother is an agent for travel.
